About Us

The Christian Science Organization is more than a religious group. The CSO is a space and family where spiritually minded people can gather to talk about deep ideas and experience fellowship, healing, and an increased awareness of their own relationship to God.

Our organization has existed on the UW-Madison campus since 1951 and carries forward a strong tradition of supporting students who want to learn more about the teachings of Christian Science and how living like Christ Jesus is practical and necessary to one's growth and ability to enjoy a life of purpose. The CSO is part of a worldwide network of college and university students affiliated with The First Church of Christ, Scientist, located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Of the student organizations that exist on campus, the Christian Science Organization is among the most radical and progressive! Where else can you challenge the paradigms of society and life with ideas like this: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter... man is not material; he is spiritual." Science and Health with key to the Scriptures 468:9,15. And yet, Christian Science takes to heart people's deepest needs for health, love, and understanding.

The best way to learn about us is to join us for our next meeting. Discussion topics range from personal stuff like academics and relationships to the welfare of others on campus and in the world. The CSO cares about the health of the whole.

Our building is located at 315 North Mills Street. See our calendar for updated times and events. See you then!
